09 July 2014

TAU Law is proud to announce that Prof. Ariel Porat, the Alain Poher Professor of Law and former Dean of the Faculty, has been awarded the prestigious EMET Prize – one of the most distinguished research awards in the country, on par with the annual Israel Prize. The award recognizes Prof. Porat's meaningful work in the field of law, and embodies the Faculty's greatest achievement in recent years.

The EMET Prize is granted to a small number of distinguished individuals every few years, with the only previous recipients working in the field of law including former Supreme Court Chief Justice, Prof. Aharon Barak and Prof. Ruth Gabison of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prof. Porat received the award along with the Hebrew University's Professor of Public Law and former Supreme Court Justice, Prof. Yitzhak Zamir.

The Faculty, including its staff and students, as well as the University at large, take great pride in this extraordinary achievement.
