Law and Political Thought Workshop
Prof. Harel Alon
The relationship between law and political thought is one of the principal issues occupying legal academia in recent decades. The goal of the workshop on law and political thought is to develop the tools to consider this relationship from a critical perspective, with an emphasis on Continental political theory. The workshop opens each year with an introduction to the critical tradition, drawn from authors such as Marx, Schmitt, and Foucault. The rest of the workshop is devoted to works in progress by scholars currently working in the critical tradition, or in dialogue with this tradition. Undergraduate and graduate student participants read the papers in advance and offer written and oral comments on them.
