Dr. Michal Shaked

Biography

After receiving her LL.b from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem (1970, with honors) and clerking for Justice Tzvi Berinson of  the Supreme Court of Israel, Dr. Michal Shaked served as a senior attorney in the Ministry of Justice in Jerusalem, where she represented the Israeli Government, mainly in cases before the Supreme Court. In 1984 she moved to Tel-Aviv, where she was a senior partner in the law firm Kirsch-Shaked. In 2002 she received her Ph.D (J.D) from Tel-Aviv University.

Her areas of expertise and interest are Public Law, Labor & employment law, legal history and legal theory, and she published several articles in these areas. Her first book was published in 2012: Moshe Landau, a Judge (a biography of the 5th Supreme Court Chief Justice Moshe Landau). Currently she is writing her second book, The Histadrut, the Courts and freedom of organization in Israel (tentative title) (with professor Hila Shamir).
