Asaf is a Ph.D. candidate and a research fellow with the Zvi Meitar Center for advanced legal studies at Tel-Aviv University.
His research, supervised by Justice Prof. Daphne Barak-Erez and Prof. Michael Birnhack, aimes to re-evaluate the accountability of current commercial media agents for public interests, in light of the social-cultural costs of state-regulation over media, and the decline of traditional justifications for media regulation. The research's main argument is that due to the substantive interrelations between media and culture, most of the current media regulation practices cannot be justified within the liberal framework.
