About TAU Law
Renowned for its innovative approach to legal education and research

TAU Law, the oldest law school in Israel, tracing its roots to the Tel Aviv School of Law and Economics established in 1935. Our law school is home to more than 40 full-time faculty members and over 25 renowned visiting professors who are internationally recognized for their areas of expertise. These are complemented by dozens of adjunct lecturers that teach a broad range of academic disciplines and legal fields. Approximately 1,600 students from Israel and from more than 20 countries worldwide attend the Faculty annually.

The curriculum at TAU Law includes a vast array of courses and seminars that are aimed at enhancing students' ability to address local and global legal and social issues. Approximately 45 of the offered courses are taught in English. TAU Law also provides a wide range of opportunities for theoretical research and practical legal experience as it strives to create a stimulating learning environment for its students and scholars. Among these are the Faculty's unique legal workshops, which introduces students to cutting-edge research by leading scholars from Israel and abroad, and which allows them to review and contribute to yet-unpublished legal scholarship. Our LL.B. students also have the opportunity to take part in one of the Faculty’s many legal clinics and public interest programs, providing them with meaningful practical skills and experiences, while giving back to the community.

TAU Law’s faculty members have published numerous books and publications in top-ranking law reviews, peer-reviewed journals and university presses and many are regular visitors at leading law schools in the US and Europe. TAU Law houses numerous prestigious research institutes, facilitating cutting-edge conferences, colloquia and research activities. One of these institutes, The Cegla Center for Interdisciplinary Research of the Law, is host to the Faculty's flagship law review – Theoretical Inquiries in Law (TIL), which is ranked number 1 for citation impact among all non-U.S. law reviews around the world.

The Faculty’s alumni help shape the future of legal education and practice in Israel. Graduates routinely obtain employment in elite private and public-sector positions, and courts.  Our distinguished alumni include Supreme Court Judges, managing partners at top law firms, executives, and journalists, high ranking officials in the public sector, as well as Ministers and Knesset members.
