Conference - Women Exclusion: Current and Future Challenges

This conference will discuss the growing practice of women exclusion in Israel and will deal with questions of segregation in the public sphere, appointment of women to institutions that until recently were closed to them, gender segregation in the Palestinian society in light of a limited secular sphere and alternatives to state courts during struggles for social change. The conference will also ask how should the balance between communal and religious needs of life-choices and gender equality look in the future. Speakers will include activists, academics and men and women working in the fields of parliament, administration, culture and the media.

The conference is a collaboration between the Minerva Center for Human Rights, The Academic Center for Law and Science and Sapir College.

The conference will be held in Hebrew.
