Genocide, Restitution and Reparations: Expanding the Category
Minerva Center Researchers Workshop
12 September 2019, 9:45
Law Faculty
This workshop will focus on the property-element of historic injustices and the possible implications this has for the growing field of transitional justice.
The first panel will explore legal attempts to deal with materiality of the aftermath of genocide and other atrocities. We will attempt to connect these practices to a broader understanding of transitional justice mechanisms.
The second panel will put at its center the relationship between the practice of restitution and reparations for Nazi victims and the historiography of Nazi crimes.
