Faculty Team Wins Red Cross Competition!

The winning team will represent Israel in the international competition in Macedonia next year

22 October 2017

Each year, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) holds a competition in Israel to promote awareness and understanding of international humanitarian law. As part of this endeavor, the ICRC works with academic institutions across Israel and the Occupied Territories to promote the study of this area of the law.

The competition is a four-day event (23-26 October) in which students from different Israeli academic institutions participate in several rounds of simulations that test their knowledge of international humanitarian law. This year, TAU Law was represented by two excellent teams of students who competed against students from other universities across the country. It was a challenging competition in which crucial and fascinating issues from war and conflict, its causes, conduct and consequences from various viewpoints were explored.

We are delighted to announce that one of our teams won! The winning team will go on to represent Israel in the international competition in Macedonia in March 2018.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Efrat Fadida and Shani Rozenzweig for their incredible performance. We would also like to thank Yael Hadad, Noa Geva, Khawla Nassar and Roi Ya'acovi for the fantastic team effort and participation. Last but not least, our utmost appreciation and thanks to team coaches Adv. Roy Ariav and Adv. Hila Zur.
