Prof. Menny Mautner has been elected as Chair of the 2014 Sapir Prize for Literature

TAU Law is proud to announce Prof. Menachem Mautner, the Danielle Rubinstein Professor of Comparative Civil Law and Jurisprudence and former Dean of the Faculty, has been chosen to head the committee in charge of selecting the laureates for the 2014 Sapir Prize – an annual literary award presented for a work of fine Hebrew literature.
Celebrating this year its 14th anniversary, the Sapir Prize is one of the most lucrative literature prizes in the country. The winner will be awarded 150,000 NIS (approximately $40,000 USD), and each of the five remaining final contestants will be awarded 40,000 NIS each. In addition, the winner will be granted a translation of his work to any language of his choice.
Prof. Mautner is one of the country's leading scholars working in the field of law and culture. Among other things, he is the Editor-in Chief of TAU Law's "Law, Society and Culture" book series, and author of 5 books, including the award-winning "Law and Culture in Israel at the Threshold of the Twenty-First Century", chosen by the Jonathan Shapiro Prize as the best book of the year in 2008.
