Biography
Shai J. Keidar is a Ph.D. candidate in Law at the Buchman Law Faculty at Tel-Aviv University since 2012. Shai holds an LL.M. in commercial law from Tel-Aviv University together with UC Berkeley and an LL.B. from Haifa University. Shai’s doctoral dissertation supervisors are Prof. Ron Harris, Faculty Dean, and Prof. Ehud Kamar. Shai’s doctoral dissertation main area of research is corporate reorganization theory. Shai's research is a multidisciplinary project, including theories and methodologies from taken law, economics, management, sociology and more. For e.g., Shai is utilizing and implementing organizations theory and institutional theory to advance both a critical analysis of contemporary corporate reorganization theories, as well as advancing a new theory based on organizational approach.
Before joining the Ph.D. program, Shai became a member of the Israeli Bar in 2005, and since then worked as a full time commercial lawyer in leading law firms practicing mainly in the areas of corporate bankruptcy (reorganizations, liquidations, receivership). Shai also practiced in the areas of Banking, Debt Instruments and commercial litigation at large. During his work, Shai represented and advised numerous commercial clients, including leading Israeli banks, Insurance and financing corporations.
