Batya and Isachar Fischer Center for Corporate Governance and Capital Markets Regulation
The Batya and Isachar Fischer Center for Corporate Governance and Capital Markets Regulation was founded in 2007 through the kind support of The Batya and Isachar Fischer Foundation, and is the first of its kind in Israel.
The goals of the Center are to promote interdisciplinary research in corporate law and finance; strengthen relations between legal researchers, corporate practitioners, and regulators; and provide a forum for discussing current issues relating to corporate governance and capital markets.
The Center holds events that attract participants from the academia, legal and business communities, as well as from the government. The centerpiece of these is the Fischer Forum, a roundtable discussion held from time to time on current issues in corporate law and capital markets regulation.
The Center also organizes international academic conferences, sponsors empirical research, awards grants and fellowships to students, and operates a professional blog that accepts unsolicited submissions.
TAU Law faculty members affiliated with the Center regularly write on corporate law and governance in business newspapers, comment on proposed legislation, and appear before governmental committees.
The current Director of the Center is Prof. Assaf Hamdani.
