Inbal Blau

Biography

Inbal is a PhD candidate at the Zvi Meitar Center for Advanced Legal Studies at Tel-Aviv University (TAU). Her dissertation, written under the supervision of Professors Neta Ziv and David Schorr, examines the socio-legal aspects of compensation mechanisms of mass body damage events in Israel through an historical perspective. She earned both her LLB and LLM degrees from the Faculty of Law at TAU. Her Master thesis, written under the supervision of Professors Neta Ziv and Danny More, addressed social and legal aspects of the Tinea Capitis (Ringworm) radiation treatment affair in Israel.

Inbal is vice-chairman of The Junior Academic Staff Association at TAU. Until recently Inbal worked for many years as an advocate in the fields of civil and criminal law, including as law clerk to Honorable Judge Khaled Kabub in the Economical Department of the District Court of Tel Aviv. She served as a Student Editor of "Law, Society and Culture" law review and as a teaching assistance in various courses. Inbal also engaged in several extracurricular activities, among them: developed and delivered professional training for law clerks in the court system; managed the "Different Lesson" project of law clerks at the Tel Aviv District Court for school students and the "Practical Law" project of the Law Faculty at TAU.
Inbal Has published so far 4 articles and participated in various conferences and workshops.

Inbal is married to Dr. (M.D.) Ilan Blau and is the mother of Omer, Shira and Maa'yan.

 

Research Interests

Civil law, torts, remedies, history of law, sociology of law, and corporate law.

2007-2012: Senior Law Clerk, Tel Aviv-Jaffa Court in the fields of civil and criminal law, including to the Honorable Judge Khaled Kabub, Economic Department, Tel Aviv District Court (with specialty in corporate law).

2002-2007: Advocate in different fields with specialty in the niche of civil law at private law firms (such as Nachitz Brandes & Co. and Neeman, Shafir, Ben-Artzi & Co. (merged with Shibolet & Co.))

2008-2010: Board member Itach-Maaki, Women Lawyers for Social Justice, a non-profit organization for social change through the law to address the needs and rights of women from social, economic, and geographic peripheries in Israel.

2010: Arbitrator Tel Aviv Court.

2007-2008: Managed the "Practical Law" Project, Tel Aviv University, Law Faculty, which aims to encourage academic discourse along with practical legal activities.

2004-2005: Member think tank Minerva Humanities Center, Tel Aviv University regarding the Israeli adoption law.

1998-2000: Taught in a legal thinking project of the Tel Aviv University "Mevohot Mishpat" ("Access to Law") that promotes equalizing educational opportunities among children.
