Prof. Miguel Deutch teaches courses on property law, law of contracts, commercial law, and intellectual property law. He received his LL.B., cum laude, from TAU and his Ph.D. from Hebrew University. The author of about 80 publications and researches, including nine books in Hebrew and two books in English, in the fields of contracts, property law, commercial torts, trade secrets, and the new Israeli Code. He was a member of various Ministry of Justice legislative committees, and served as the principal researcher of the Committee for the Codification of Israeli Law and as the editor of the Israeli legal periodical, Hapraklit. He has also served as the Director of the Israeli Institute for Continuing Legal Studies. Among other positions he served as a member of the “Turkel Commission”,been appointed to investigate the Gaza flotilla raid (The “Mavi Marmara “incident), and the Blockade of Gaza (The Public Commission to Examine the Maritime Incident of 31 May 2010). This Commission submitted a report also on Israel’s Mechanisms for Examining and Investigating Complaints and Claims of Violations of the Laws of Armed Conflict according to International Law; He served in addition as a special advisor to the State Comptroller, in relation with the Audit Report on the Operation ‘Protective Edge’ – IDF Activity from the Perspective of International Law; Prof. Deutch is the President of the Disciplinary Tribunal (Acadamic Staff), at the Tel Aviv University; Of Counsel - Meitar. Liquornic, Geva, Leshem, adv.; Arbitrator in Commercial disputes; Member of the Presidential Panel at the Supreme Tribunal of the Israel Football Association.
