Attorney Sawsan Zaher joined the Human Rights Clinic in 2022.
She received her LL.B in 1997 from the College of Management, School of School and her LL.M from the American University, Washington College of Law (Washington DC).
From 2005 until 2021 Sawsan worked in Adalah, the Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights and served as the deputy general director and senior lawyer. During her work at Adalah, she litigated in major constitutional cases on behalf of Palestinians from both sides of the Green Line before the Israeli Supreme Court. Between 2004-2005 she worked in Kayan – Feminist Organization.
She was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2015; a Yale World Fellow at Yale University in 2013 and a Public Interest Law Fellow at Columbia University in NYC (2008). In 2012, the Israeli Magazine The-Marker named her as one of the 40 promising people under the age of 40 in her field of expertise.
